Butuza retuns to his passion
One of the wealthiest men in Romania, Marcel Butuza has managed to build an empire in the domains of construction, logistics, transport and real-estate. But other than business, the Romanian has one passion: the Dakar, and more specifically the Dakar on a bike. Fascinated by the event, he gave it a first go back in 2007 when it was still in Africa, however failing to reach the finish. His second attempt, this time on the other side of the ocean, was just as painful and only lasted three days. He therefore decided to create his own team, the Vectra Racing team and reappeared two years later, taking with him young and promising compatriot Mani Gyenes. Not only did he manage to finish, his team mate conquered the Marathon class. After a break from the event last year, the man from Brasov returns with the will to once again make it to the finish in Buenos Aires and enjoy a nice breath of fresh air and a good dose of adrenalin far from his busy life in Romania.
