“Confident the team has a bright future”
Every year, new stars appear on the Dakar. Joaquim Rodrigues will be one of them. For two reasons: first of all because he comes from the world of supercross and motocross and should hence be rather spectacular. Secondly because he'll be riding a factory bike supported by the giant indian manufacturer Hero. Of course, the man known as J-Rod is a newcomer on the Dakar, but he proved in his first rally-raid experiences that he adapted perfectly to his new discipline. The Portuguese indeed captured a great 9th spot at the Merzouga Rally before clinching 15th position several months later on the Morocco rally against all the best riders of the field. On his first Dakar, Rodrigues will be competing alongside India's CS Santosh with the goal to shine and take his Hero to the finish and help make the brand even bigger than it already is (over 6 million bikes produced, present in 30 countries).
“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Hero MotoSports Team Rally. Even though this is a new set-up, I'm confident that the team has a bright future with all the right ingredients to make a successful rally-team. The synergy created by Hero will not only help improve the team's fortunes, but also help bring in more viewers to the sport and popularize it in new markets.”
